Christmas, it’s the most wonderful time of the year (as the song goes). And our cracking county really does make the most of the most magical month. There’s no shortage of Christmas activities on offer this year but here are our five suggestions for some festive fun that yule (get it?) not want to miss!
Kingswood Christmas Trees
What would Christmas be without a tree? Not very christmassy of course. And nothing beats the real thing. Family run business Kingswood Christmas Trees have been spreading Christmas cheer throughout Kent and beyond for more than 60 years. Head along to their farm to enjoy some festive fare or meet the big man himself in Santa’s grotto before heading into the farm to hand pick your own tree.
Canterbury Christmas Market
Get into the Christmas spirit and tick off your Christmas shopping in one go at one of Kent’s Christmas markets. The popular Canterbury market is free to attend and offers a variety of yuletide activities alongside the usual market stalls and festive food options.
Create your own festive wreath with a wreath workshop. A wreath is a great way to decorate your home for the season and nothing beats the satisfaction of creating something with your own two hands (a feeling we know all too well!).
The BFG Exhibition
Storytelling and Christmas go together like mince pies and brandy butter. And there are not many stories more magical than the tales told by Roald Dahl - and of course the incredible illustrations that went with them. This wonderful exhibit features illustrations from family favorite ‘The BFG’ as well as a range of fun related activities.
