In the picturesque countryside of Kent and the surrounding areas, there are several festive markets that we think are definitely worth a visit. If you need help getting into the Christmas spirit this year, keep reading our run down and select the christmas market you’d like to attend. You’ll be sure to find unique gifts, delicious food, and festive entertainment.

Rochester Christmas Market

One of the most popular Christmas markets in Kent is the Rochester Christmas Market, held in the historic town of Rochester. The market features over 70 stalls selling a wide variety of gifts, crafts, and seasonal treats. Visitors can also enjoy live music, entertainment and a funfair. The highlight of the market is the daily parade of Dickensian characters, which brings the spirit of Christmas past to life.

Leeds Castle Christmas Market

Located in the stunning grounds of Leeds Castle, the Christmas market at this historic site is a must-visit for anyone in Kent. It features an impressive Christmas lights display and food and beverage stalls around the lawn which you can expect to be serving festive delights. Visitors can also enjoy a visit into the castle itself, which is beautifully decorated for the holidays. Be sure to catch one of the live performances or take a ride on the vintage carousel.

Broadstairs Christmas Market

For a more intimate and traditional Christmas market experience, head to the charming town of Broadstairs. The Broadstairs Christmas market features a selection of local artisans and food producers, offering unique gifts and delicious treats. Visitors can also enjoy carol singing, mulled wine, and festive decorations throughout the town. Don't forget to take a stroll along the scenic seafront and enjoy views of the English Channel.

Tenterden Christmas Market

The Tenterden Christmas Market is a great destination for those looking for a mix of shopping, entertainment, and holiday cheer. The market features over 50 stalls selling a variety of gifts, crafts, and seasonal treats. Visitors can also enjoy live music, street performers, and a visit from Santa Claus himself. The market is held in the picturesque high street of Tenterden, making it a perfect setting for a festive day out.

Overall, the Christmas markets in the Kent countryside offer a unique and festive experience for visitors of all ages. Whether you're looking for gifts, food, or simply a fun day out, these markets have something for everyone. So why not plan a visit to one of these markets this holiday season and immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas in Kent.Learn more about the work we do restoring and building traditional oast cowls for oast houses in Kent or read our blog for articles on best country walks, the best beer gardens in Kent, beer brewing, history of Kent and plenty more!
